The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) needed a better understanding of what drives social media engagement, follower growth, and promotional value. Their challenge was to identify what types of content perform best, how different platforms influence audience interaction, and what strategies could turn casual followers into loyal fans and ticket buyers.
In my analysis, I focused follower growth trends, identifying what types of content, posting times, and platform strategies led to growth in each profile's follower ship. I uncovered patterns in follower drop-offs for particular platforms and discovered what content consistently created and retained fans. My strategy prioritized growing PWHL superfans rather than just chasing short-term engagement spikes.
By shifting the focus from fleeting interactions to sustainable audience growth, I showed how a long-term social media strategy can turn casual scrollers into loyal, paying fans of the sport not just the teams. I presented my findings to sports professionals, helping my team reach 1st place.
Due to the nature of the competition, my work cannot be shown. Get in touch, and I would love to chat more about it!
